What is the SNACC Program?

SNACC is a volunteer-driven program that responds to the consequences of and risks associated with financial hardship by providing accessible nutritional programming to youth in NYC. Our programming uses education and relationship-building to promote healthy living and community connection.

The compounding effects of food insecurity are critical barriers to learning. Our after-school program seeks to address the effects of food insecurity through accessible cooking lessons that teach youth how to make healthy, affordable, and replicable meals while providing a space for them to explore their creativity, culinary passions, and future career paths. We host a special guest chef at each session who teaches the students and also shares their own story. Each child is fed during the session as well as leaves the session with an extra portion of the food that they prepared.

We are consistently evaluating and evolving our program to more effectively respond to community needs. We prioritize collaboration with family members, community members, chefs, and volunteers from diverse backgrounds and thrive on the generous donations of our supporters.

President of Faces in Between. I am a person who believes in the power of love, community and action. Much of our organization’s success depends on these three things…we rely on the love and passion of our volunteers as well as our partners to come together as a strong force to address the issues, understand the needs and improve the lives of those around us. A little bit goes a long way and all it takes is collective compassion that is put into action to make a change.
